Notes

On June 17th, 1931, Widforss wrote to his friend Maike Harrison-

Seems to be a good place for business. Sold two pictures. It is surprisingly warm during the day, nights of course really cold – so far. It certainly is a fine place U.P [Union Pacific] has put up[the new North Rim Lodge]. I am having one of the old Wylie Camp cabins. Eat breakfast and lunch at the cafeteria and have dinner and spend the evening at the lodge. Play Bridge there.

Today I expect to finish my first picture from here. However, one or two more canyon pictures will probably be all – until I see that they sell. Because there are most wonderful groups of aspens here. And they fascinate me much more than the Canyon.
