Notes
View from up the side canyon near Goulding's Trading Post in Monument Valley. Painted in October 1929 when Widforss also visited the Wetherill-Colville Guest Ranch in Kayenta and Goulding's Trading Post in Monument Valley on a trip with Mike Harrison.
Mike Harrison was a National Park Service ranger at Grand Canyon in the 1920s and a close friend of the artist. He went on to establish an extensive private library of Western art and history, now housed in Special Collections, at the University of California Library, Davis.
