Notes

Painted during Widforss' first visit to the United States from December 1905 - August 1907.

This house located at the corner of Treasury and Bay Streets (now Avenida Menendez) was  built while Florida was a Spanish colony.  The building burned in 1914.  At the time of Widforss' painting Dr. John Vedder used it to operate a museum known as the Vedder Museum.  Dr. John Vedder was a cousin of the artist Elihu Vedder.
