Dan McDade told Bill and Frances Belknap that Arizona Senator Carl Hayden commissioned Widforss to do two paintings of the San Francisco Peaks. Museum of Northern Arizona archives.
Signed and titled on an exhibition label from the 1932 Arizona Artists and Crafts Fourth Annual Exhibition on back. Widforss won a second prize for the painting at the exhibition and first prize for the People's Choice. The registration tag was completed by Mary-Russell Ferrell Colton, one of the founders of the Museum of Northern Arizona
